Biomedical, Biometrics & Bio-inspired Electronics
The Biomedical, Biometrics, & Bio-inspired Electronics research priority has three distinct groupings associated with it:
-
Biomedical Electronics
-
Biometrics
-
Bio-inspired Electronics
The
Biomedical Electronics
research activity is fully embraced by the
Bioelectronics Research Cluster at the NCBES led by
Prof. Gearóid Ó Laighin.
The
Biometrics
research activity is currently associated with the application of Biometrics in Consumer Electronic devices with a particular focus on face recognition in digital imaging.
Dr. Peter Corcoran leads this activity under the auspices of the
Consumer Electronics Research Group.
The
Bio-inspired Electronics research activity is focussed on using biological evolution mechanisms to derive novel reconfigurable electronic and computational systems
Dr. Fearghal Morgan leads this activity under the auspics of the
Bio-inspired Electronics & Reconfigurable Computing research group
